SSC CPO Recruitment 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026. Through this recruitment, eligible candidates will be selected for the posts of Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police, Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs and Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF. The recruitment includes a total of 1871 tentative vacancies. The online application process will start from 10 September 2026 and eligible candidates can submit their applications online up to 30 September 2026.

The fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro or RuPay Debit Card. The last date for online fee payment is 01 October 2026 at 11:00 PM.

Application Correction Fee

Candidates can modify and resubmit the application during the correction window.

  • First correction: ₹200
  • Second correction: ₹500
  • Correction charges apply to all candidates irrespective of category or gender.

Candidates can make corrections a maximum of two times during the correction window.

Age Limit

The age limit is calculated as on 01 August 2026.

  • For most posts: 20 to 25 years
  • Candidate must have been born between 02 August 2001 and 01 August 2006
  • For SI (Fire) in CISF: 18 to 30 years

Age relaxation will be applicable to eligible reserved categories as per Government rules.

Departmental candidates of Delhi Police who meet the prescribed conditions can also apply for the open Male Delhi Police SI vacancies, with applicable age relaxation.

Qualification

For Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent as on the closing date of online applications. Candidates appearing for their degree examination can apply only if they acquire the required qualification by the prescribed cut-off date.

For the SI (Fire) in CISF, candidates must satisfy the specific educational qualification prescribed under the SSC CPO 2026 notification.

Selection Process

The SSC CPO 2026 selection process consists of the following stages:

  1. Paper-I – Computer Based Examination
  2. Physical Standard Test (PST) / Physical Endurance Test (PET)
  3. Paper-II – Computer Based Examination
  4. Detailed Medical Examination (DME/RME)
  5. Document Verification
  6. Final Selection and Post/Force Allocation

Paper-I candidates are shortlisted for PST/PET based on their performance. Only candidates qualifying in PST/PET proceed to Paper-II. Final selection is based mainly on Paper-II performance along with the post/force preferences submitted by the candidate.

Paper-II is of 200 marks and has a duration of 1 hour, with sectional timing as prescribed in the notification. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks in Paper-I and 0.50 marks in Paper-II for each wrong answer.

Physical Test

The Physical Endurance Test is qualifying in nature.

Male Candidates

  • 100 metre race – 16 seconds
  • 1.6 km race – 6.5 minutes
  • Long Jump – 3.65 metres in 3 chances
  • High Jump – 1.2 metres in 3 chances
  • Shot Put (16 lbs) – 4.5 metres in 3 chances

Female Candidates

  • 100 metre race – 18 seconds
  • 800 metre race – 4 minutes
  • Long Jump – 2.7 metres in 3 chances
  • High Jump – 0.9 metres in 3 chances

There is no minimum chest measurement requirement for female candidates.

Physical Standard Test

For most male candidates, the prescribed height is 170 cm, while the general female height requirement is 157 cm, subject to the category/region-wise relaxations specified in the notification.

For SI (Fire) in CISF, the general male height requirement is 170 cm, with prescribed chest measurements of 81 cm unexpanded and 86 cm expanded.

How to Apply for SSC CPO Recruitment 2026

Eligible candidates can apply online by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official SSC website.
  2. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process.
  3. Log in using the Registration Number and Password.
  4. Open the “Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination 2026” application link.
  5. Enter the required educational and other details.
  6. Select the applicable post/force preferences and examination centres.
  7. Upload the required photograph/live photograph and signature as per instructions.
  8. Pay the application fee, if applicable.
  9. Carefully check the application preview.
  10. Submit the application form.
  11. Download and keep a copy of the final application for future reference.

Candidates are required to complete OTR on the new SSC website, and the OTR created on the old SSC website will not work on the new website.

The SSC application system also provides Aadhaar-Based Authentication. Candidates not opting for Aadhaar authentication must provide the documents prescribed by SSC for completing OTR.

Important Instructions

Candidates should submit the application well before the last date rather than waiting until the closing hours. SSC has specifically advised candidates to regularly check its website and concerned Regional Office websites for updates regarding the examination, vacancies, PET/PST and other stages.

Candidates should also remember that the preference of post/force submitted during the recruitment process is treated as final and irreversible. If a candidate does not opt for a particular post/force, he or she will not be considered for that post irrespective of merit.
