What is the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS)?
The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS) is an initiative by the Government of India that aims to provide young individuals with valuable work experience in India’s top 500 companies. This program offers exposure to real-world business environments, enabling participants to develop essential skills. The government plans to offer one crore internships over five years under this scheme.

Who is NOT Eligible for the PM Internship Scheme?
You are not eligible for the PM Internship Scheme if:
- You are under 21 years or over 24 years of age (as of the application deadline).
- You are currently engaged in full-time employment or education.
- You have graduated from institutions like IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISER, NIDs, or IIITs.
- You hold qualifications such as CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, PhD, or any other master’s or higher degree.
- You are already participating in a skill, apprenticeship, internship, or training program under any Central or State Government scheme.
- You have completed an apprenticeship under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) or National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
- Your family’s income exceeds ₹8 lakh for the financial year 2023-24.
- Any member of your family (self, parents, or spouse) is a permanent/regular government employee, except for contractual employees.
